Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories seeks motivated undergraduates for the MissionTech SIGMA summer internship. You will collaborate with scientists and engineers across microsystems, MEMS, photonics, and quantum components to develop real-world solutions with national security impact.

Participants gain hands-on research experience, mentorship from Sandia staff, and opportunities to attend technical seminars and tours, preparing for a career in science and engineering.

Qualifications

• Enrolled full-time in spring term preceding internship or set to graduate in spring
• Pursuing a science, engineering, or math major
• Minimum GPA 3.0/4.0
• Able to work up to 40 hours/week during summer
• U.S. citizenship required for security clearance

Responsibilities

• Engage with MissionTech SIGMA projects in microsystems and electronics
• Work with Sandia scientists and engineers on cutting-edge research
• Attend technical seminars and facility tours to broaden skills
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team on national security-focused tasks
• Prepare and present project outcomes to mentors and peers
