Job description

Work Where You Can Make an IMPACT

Work in an EXCITING and MEANINGFUL field teaching children with developmental disabilities ages Pre-K to 21 years old at our Center for Learning in Cheektowaga, NY or in a preschool setting throughout Erie County.

Six-week summer session to be held from July 7th – August 15th with a new employee orientation held June 24th-June 26th. Opportunities available to continue employment in September.

This position will assist students who have visual impairments achieve maximum independence through instruction in a safe environment within the home, school, and community. Specific skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of this job include but not limited to, braille instruction and transcription, identifying appropriate instructional materials and equipment as well as assessing and instructing visually impaired students.

Requirements:

  • New York State Teaching Certification
  • Completion of a NYS registered program for Teacher of the Visually Impaired

Rate of Pay:

  • $25.55 per hour with Special Education Certification
