Job summary

Capital One's AI Foundations team seeks a current PhD student for a 12-week summer applied research internship. You will collaborate with engineers, researchers, and product managers to translate cutting-edge ML advances into real customer experiences, using PyTorch, AWS, HuggingFace, and vector databases.

This paid internship requires in-person attendance at the McLean, VA location and offers exposure to top conferences and publications.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a PhD program with coursework completed by mid-2027.
• 1st year of PhD coursework must be completed by June 2027.
• Strong programming experience in Python and at least one DL framework (e.g., PyTorch).
• Publications in leading ML/NLP/AI conferences are desirable.

Responsibilities
