Job summary

NiSource is seeking a Summer People Analytics Intern within the Human Resources Organization in Columbus, OH for a 12-week program starting May 2027. Interns will work as integral team members, contribute to meaningful projects, and engage in professional development and team-building activities.

Eligible students are pursuing majors in Data Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, or related fields, with strong quantitative skills, Excel, Power BI, Python, and data visualization experience

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited university with major in related discipline such as Data Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Industrial Organizational Psychology, Business Analytics, Human Resources with strong quantitative focus
• Completion of intermediate-level coursework
• Preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Team oriented
• Self-motivated with drive for results
• Time management skills
• Business acumen and problem solving skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Solid organizational skills and attention to detail
• Advanced experience with Excel
• Experience with Power BI
• Experience with Python
• Experience with data visualization, survey analysis, and data cleaning and validation

Responsibilities

• Successful applicants will become integral members of the Human Resources department, while learning within a team environment, completing meaningful tasks and collaborating with managers on important projects.
• The intern will have the opportunity to collaborate with our Organizational Development, Talent Acquisition, Talent Strategy, Leadership Development, Change Management, Human Resource Consultants and Inclusion and Diversity teams.
