Job summary

Mountain Roots Food Project in Colorado seeks a passionate Summer Environmental & Outdoor Educator for an AmeriCorps program. You will design and deliver environmental and nutrition lessons for PreK–12 students, plan after-school activities, and lead summer camps focused on earth science, nature discovery, and garden education.

You will collaborate with local experts, connect schools with garden and hydroponics initiatives, and support farmers markets and lunch reforms through hands-on

Qualifications

• Program requires some college education.
• Ages 18 to 54 are accepted.
• Full-time schedule for the year-round service period.

Responsibilities

• Design & deliver environmental/nutrition lessons for PreK-12 students.
• Create, plan & lead after-school programs—kids cooking classes & science/garden clubs.
• Develop & lead summer camp programs—earth science, nature discovery, and related activities.
• Coordinate with local experts for field trips & guest-led educational experiences.
• Cultivate & integrate school gardens & hydroponics into curricula & cafeterias; organize field days.
• Transport students using company or rental vehicles, including 15-passenger vans.
