Job summary

AmeriCorps State / National in Moscow, ID seeks an Outdoor Science Educator to develop and deliver nature-based lessons for K-5 students. The position runs for 9 months, totaling about 450 hours, including after-school activities and occasional full days during the school year.

You will lead exploration, crafts, and games focused on the environment, supervise recreation and STEAM activities, and help maintain the school site.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be fluent in English and commit to the full term of service.
• Background check fingerprint required.
• Ability to work as part of a diverse team.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead nature-based activities for 2–3 hours per week after school.
• Lead outdoor science field trips during school year full days.
• Supervise students participating in science, tech, engineering, arts, math, and recreation activities.
• Assist with activity cleanup and site maintenance at day end.
