Job summary
Interlochen Arts Camp is seeking a team-oriented Arts Camp Counselor in Music to mentor junior and intermediate campers in guitar and related activities. You will assist rehearsals, attend performances, and supervise a cabin group, fostering safety, growth, and creativity in a rustic northern Michigan setting.
The role emphasizes leadership, youth mentorship, and a passion for the arts, with duties split between music sessions and camp-life supervision.
Qualifications
- Availability: 6/16/2026 – 8/10/2026
- Preparation to live in a nature cabin setting; rustic housing available
- Minimum 2 years of Bachelor’s in Music or junior standing
- Current CPR and First Aid certifications or willingness to obtain
- Experience in Music Education is a plus
- Experience in violin/viola/cello/double bass applied teaching would be beneficial
Responsibilities
- Assist with and participate in rehearsals, performances, meetings and classes
- Supervise and care for a group of campers, ensuring safety and well-being
- Create an inclusive cabin environment encouraging teamwork and personal growth
- Plan and facilitate age-appropriate activities and games
- Maintain communication with Area Coordinator and Teaching Assistant
