Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related subject from a regionally accredited university.
• Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with any teaching endorsement required.
• Teaching experience is preferred but not necessary for hiring.

Responsibilities

• Plans a program of study that follows district guidelines and meets the needs of students.
• Implements research-based teaching strategies that engage all students and acknowledge diverse backgrounds.
• Creates an environment conducive to learning and motivates students from varied cultural backgrounds.
• Implements current district curriculum and content that is grade level appropriate.
• Plans and guides learning toward mastery with clear objectives for all lessons and projects.
• Collaborates with colleagues, students, and parents regularly and as requested by administration.
• Implements assessments and communicates progress to students and parents.
• Maintains high expectations for achievement and behavior and motivates students to their best.
• Participates on curriculum, personnel, policy or professional development committees.
• Maintains accurate records as required by law and district policy.
• Assists administration in implementing student discipline policies and maintains order.
