Job summary

Idaho Power, based in Boise, Idaho, seeks Mechanical Engineering Interns for summer 2027. Interns support engineering teams, gain practical experience, and contribute to energy efficiency projects across commercial and industrial sites.

You will work under supervision, interface with various departments, and develop skills in data analysis, reporting, and project coordination within a regulated utility setting.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED; currently enrolled in ABET-accredited engineering program.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Non-exempt seasonal internship with a fixed term.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineering staff within a team environment.
• Interface with internal departments and external organizations under supervision.
• Gain hands-on experience in energy efficiency and utility operations.
• Prepare written and oral reports of findings and recommendations.
