Job summary

The Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago is offering a summer internship in its Market Risk Earnings Analysis team in Chicago. This role provides hands-on exposure to risk reporting and strategic planning within a federally chartered banking system.

You will work on analytics, process automation, and documentation, gaining insight into multiple asset classes. A GPA of 3.0+ and coursework in finance/math are preferred; May 2026 start with flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• GPA of at least 3.0 and in good academic standing.
• Strong curiosity about Financial Markets and Financial Risk management.
• Knowledge of Excel, SQL and Python is preferred.
• Internships will begin May 2026. The start/end date is flexible based on school schedule.

Responsibilities

• Analyze report metrics/ create reports to support risk management and/or strategic planning
• Help automate process or reporting with RPA or software tools
• Gain exposure to different asset classes and bring unique perspective
• Create structured documentation related to various processes
• Perform analysis on ad hoc projects such as climate risk
