Job summary

Nordson MEDICAL – Salem NH offers a meaningful internship in the Medical Component Industry focused on plastics engineering, extrusion and balloon processing. This internship provides hands-on projects under experienced engineers and exposure to manufacturing optimization and process improvement.

You will gain practical experience in data gathering, analysis, and engineering change control, while contributing to product testing and sub-assemblies. Start/end dates May–August; flexibility noted.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor of Science in Plastics Engineering as a rising junior or senior.
• Experience with polymer processing is desirable (internships welcomed).
• Basic computer, data retrieval and data analysis skills.
• Familiarity with statistics and tolerance analysis.
• Compliance with Quality System, safety and procedures as trained.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist process and product engineers on extrusion and balloon processing projects.
• Collect sample data from production runs and perform data analysis.
• Investigate complaints and support engineering changes.
• Assist with drawing/modeling support and equipment setup.
• Present learning and performance improvements at program conclusion.
