Job summary

Kraft Heinz Delimex in San Diego is seeking a Maintenance Intern to support our Maintenance Department during the summer. You will assist with gap analyses of utility assets, preventive maintenance, and the development of a 52-week plan while learning in a fast-paced plant setting.

Roles include documenting safety and quality paperwork, escalating equipment issues, and collaborating with leadership to ensure product quality and process efficiency.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret company procedures/policies.
• Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, employees and the public.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Professional attitude and behavior.
• Data analysis using MS Excel.
• Preferred: nearing bachelor’s or in master’s in Engineering/Electricity/Pneumatic/General Maintenance.
• English and Spanish proficiency preferred.
• Understanding GMPs and food safety standards; participate in QRMP audits.

Responsibilities

• Perform gap analysis of utility assets for steam, chillers, refrigeration, cooling towers and compressed air.
• Assist with quality and safety documentation and paperwork for department operations.
• Troubleshoot equipment performance and maintain line equipment integrity.
• Communicate maintenance needs to leadership to optimize line efficiency and product quality.
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance per SAP PM and playbooks during the internship.
• Support development of a 52-week maintenance plan.
• Contribute to Breakdown Management improvements and KPI reporting.
• Uphold safety standards and safe working environment.
