AquaSafe Pool Management, Inc. is hiring Lifeguards for the Summer season on the East Coast. Earn up to $18 per hour, with opportunities for advancement. Housing and transportation are provided, and extensive training is offered prior to the season.

Locations include Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware, with the corporate office in Hanover, MD. Join a team focused on safety, customer service and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Lifeguards must be available to arrive at AquaSafe's corporate office in Hanover, MD 1 week before Memorial Day for training (4 days).
• Must be at least 18 years old by arrival date.
• Must work Memorial Day weekend, 4th of July and Labor Day weekend.
• Must be able to work ALL WEEKENDS throughout the Summer.
• Must pass 4-day Lifeguard, CPR and First Aid certifications before the season starts.

Responsabilités

AquaSafe will make arrangements for individuals or groups of friends to live/work near major East Coast cities including the D.C. Metro Area, Philadelphia, PA, Harrisburg, PA. Baltimore, MD, and Wilmington, DE and more. Training through the American Red Cross will be provided prior to the start of the season. AquaSafe arranges trips to famous destinations such as New York City; Ocean City, MD; Atlantic City, NJ and Niagara Falls as well as fun contests and events throughout the Summer, including a Soccer Tournament, Summer Olympics, Video Contests and more!

Lifeguard Job Description

Lifeguarding is the BEST SUMMER JOB! Lifeguarding is the ideal job for a healthy lifestyle! You get to stay fit, be out in the fresh air all day instead of being inside, plus, you get a free tan! You have the opportunity of making new friends and meeting other Lifeguards. While it is fun, Lifeguarding must be taken very seriously, because someone's life might depend on YOU!

A Lifeguard's primary responsibility is to ensure the safety of patrons at an assigned aquatic facility by preventing and responding to emergencies. Lifeguards are responsible for enforcing all pool rules fairly and consistently. Lifeguards are also responsible for reporting any unsafe conditions or faulty equipment to their Supervisor. Lifeguards ensure proper pool water chemicals, record keeping and maintaining a clean and enjoyable aquatics facility.

Experienced, motivated Lifeguards who demonstrate excellent customer service, organizational and leadership skills may be considered as a Pool Manager, with the opportunity for more responsibility and higher pay. Interest in the Pool Manager position and further explanation of the responsibilities can be discussed in your interview.

AquaSafe Pools teaches and encourages the Lifeguarding / managing skills that will help you outside of the Lifeguard / Pool Manager position, such as:

Lifeguard Requirements

• Lifeguards must be available to arrive at our corporate office in Hanover, MD 1 week before Memorial Day to attend a 4-day Lifeguard training (or possess a valid, approved Lifeguard certification)
• Lifeguards must be a minimum of 18 years of age by date of arrival
• Lifeguards MUST be able to work Memorial Day weekend, the 4th of July and Labor Day weekend
• Lifeguards must be able to work ALL WEEKENDS throughout the Summer
• Lifeguards must conduct themselves in a professional manner and must be attentive and focused
• Lifeguards must be able to attend and pass the 4-day Lifeguard, CPR and First Aid Certifications before the start of the season
• To be eligible to participate in AquaSafe Lifeguarding Program employees must meet the following Lifeguard Prerequisites:
  • Brick Retrieval:
    Perform a feet-first surface dive to retrieve a 10-lb brick from the bottom of the pool. Return to the surface, then swim 10 yards on your back to the pool edge while holding the object at the surface with both hands and keeping your face at or near the water surface.
  • Treading Water:
    Maintain position at the surface of the water by treading water for 1 minute without using your hands.
  • Continuous Swim:
    Complete an untimed, continuous swim without resting - 100 yards. Candidates must then exit the water without using a ladder or steps. Goggles are not permitted during this swim.

Lifeguard Job Dates: Memorial Day (Saturday) - Labor Day (Monday)

Typical work week: 5-6 days/week, 8-10 hours per day

At least 40 hours average per week guaranteed

Pay rate: up to $18 per hour (depending on location and experience)

Transportation and subsidized housing will be provided (some conditions may apply)
