Job summary

AquaSafe Pool Management, Inc. is seeking Lifeguards for the East Coast summer. The company will arrange live-in/work near major East Coast cities including the D.C.

Metro Area, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Wilmington. Professional Lifeguard Training is provided before the season starts, fostering safety and career skills. Lifeguards earn competitive pay with season-long work, opportunities for advancement, and housing/transportation support for out-of-state applicants.

Qualifications

• Lifeguards must be available to arrive at our corporate office in Hanover, MD 1 week before Memorial Day to attend a 4-day Lifeguard training
• Lifeguards must be a minimum of 18 years of age by date of arrival
• Lifeguards MUST be able to work Memorial Day weekend, the 4th of July and Labor Day weekend
• Lifeguards must be able to work ALL WEEKENDS throughout the Summer
• Lifeguards must conduct themselves in a professional manner and must be attentive and focused
• Lifeguards must be able to attend and pass the 4-day Lifeguard, CPR and First Aid Certifications before the start of the season (or already possess an approved, valid Lifeguard Certification)
• To be eligible to participate in AquaSafe Lifeguarding Program employees must meet the following Lifeguard Prerequisites:
• Brick Retrieval: Perform a feet-first surface dive to retrieve a 10-lb brick from the bottom of the pool. Return to the surface, then swim 10 yards on your back to the pool edge while holding the object at the surface with both hands and keeping your face at or near the water surface.
• Treading Water: Maintain position at the surface of the water by treading water for 1 minute without using your hands.
• Continuous Swim: Complete an untimed, continuous swim without resting - 100 yards. Candidates must then exit the water without using a ladder or steps. Goggles are not permitted during this swim.

Responsibilities

• Lifeguard's primary responsibility is to ensure the safety of patrons at an assigned aquatic facility by preventing and responding to emergencies
• Lifeguards are responsible for enforcing all pool rules fairly and consistently
• Lifeguards report any unsafe conditions or faulty equipment to their Supervisor
• Lifeguards ensure proper pool water chemicals, record keeping and maintaining a clean and enjoyable aquatics facility
• Experienced Lifeguards may be considered as a Pool Manager with higher responsibility and pay

Lifeguard Job Dates:

Memorial Day Weekend (Saturday) through Labor Day (Monday)

Typical work week:

5-6 days/week, 8-10 hours per day

At least 40 hours average per week guaranteed

Pay rate:

$15.75 - $18.00/h (depending on experience/location)

Transportation and subsidized housing will be provided for out of state applicants (some conditions may apply)

Salary: $15.75 - $18 per hour
