- Program Focus: Academic and social support for elementary (Pre-K – 5th) and middle school students (Grades 6–8), emphasizing college exploration, enrichment activities, physical activity, and holistic development.
- Pay Rate: Starting at $18/hour (based on experience and education)
- Additional Commitment: Weekly meetings and professional development sessions may occur outside program hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a class of 10–15 students daily (elementary and/or middle school).
- Create and deliver age-appropriate lesson plans that align with program goals, with a focus on college exploration and enrichment activities (e.g., arts, STEM, team building, cultural exploration).
- Support both academic and non-academic development through a variety of activities.
- Foster a positive, safe, and respectful classroom and enrich the environment.
- Ensure accurate student attendance and uphold safety protocols.
- Promote a college-going culture across all age levels.
- Serve as a professional role model by adhering to attendance, punctuality, dress code, and communication expectations.
- Maintain strong communication with students, families, staff, and school partners.
Qualifications
- Education: Working toward a bachelor's degree (minimum).
- Experience: At least one year of experience working with elementary or middle school-aged children in a structured setting.
- Commitment: Full summer availability through the end of August is required.
- Language: Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred, not required.
