Position Overview

Starfire Corporation is looking for reliable and proactive Summer Maintenance Helpers to support daily operations throughout its facility and grounds. This hands‑on, diverse role involves landscaping, groundskeeping, general labor, warehouse assistance, and loading fireworks and special effects. It is ideal for individuals who enjoy physical tasks, demonstrate initiative, and are ready to help wherever needed to keep the property clean, organized, and functioning smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

• Adhere to all safety guidelines and instructions provided by the company when handling, moving, or working near pyrotechnic materials and special effects equipment.
• Assist with loading and unloading trucks, trailers, and company vehicles with equipment, materials, and show supplies as directed.
• Help prepare materials and equipment for events and shows by retrieving items from storage, staging them, and verifying counts against load lists under supervision.
• Make sure materials and equipment are properly secured, organized, and prepared for travel as per the supervisor's instructions.
• Assist production and warehouse staff with basic preparation tasks for fireworks and special effects shows, such as sorting, labeling, packaging, and counting materials under supervision.
• Assist with the setup and teardown of equipment in yard or staging areas before and after transport to shows.
• Handle daily requests from supervisors for various tasks around the property, shop, warehouse, and office.
• Move, stack, organize, and stage boxes, products, and gear in warehouse and storage areas while using proper lifting techniques.
• Use simple material-handling devices like hand trucks, dollies, and pallet jacks whenever suitable and permitted.
• Assist with general facility maintenance by sweeping, removing trash, recycling, and performing basic cleaning in the shop, warehouse, and shared areas.
• Report any safety concerns, equipment problems, or hazards immediately.
• Collaborate effectively with a small team in a dynamic, production-focused environment.
• Maintain a professional, dependable, and positive attitude when interacting with co-workers, vendors, and visitors.
• Safely operate and maintain landscaping tools and equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, and hand tools.
• Perform regular lawn care tasks such as mowing, trimming, edging the grass, and thoroughly cleaning up the property.
• Assist with minor outdoor tasks such as debris removal, repairing exterior areas, and cleaning walkways and parking zones.
• Assist with simple maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, organizing tools, and keeping storage areas orderly.

Qualifications

• Ability to work outdoors in different weather conditions and in dynamic warehouse or shop settings.
• Capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling weights up to 50 pounds regularly, while performing physical tasks throughout the day.
• Demonstrates a strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail, along with a willingness to handle a variety of tasks.
• Dependable and punctual, with trustworthy transportation to and from the worksite in St. Benedict, Pennsylvania.
• Ability to consistently follow written and verbal instructions while adhering to safety procedures.
• Previous experience in landscaping, construction, warehouse work, or general labor can be beneficial but is not mandatory.
• A valid driver's license is preferred.
