Job summary

SMBC is offering a 10-week Summer Intern Program for undergraduate students, providing exposure to major firm-wide projects and deal support across business areas. Interns will build financial models, develop client presentations, conduct research, and participate in client meetings to gain insight into global banking.

The program serves as a pipeline to our full-time Analyst Program, with hybrid work options and mentoring from both junior and senior mentors at SMBC.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate degree with expected graduation in December 2027 or May 2028; strong academic record.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with ability to convey concepts concisely.
• Professional interaction with clients in a mature, client-facing manner.
• Demonstrates high ethics, integrity and sound judgment.
• Comfortable working in a collaborative team environment.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-driven.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; quick to learn new software.

Responsibilities

• Support deal processes by building financial models and client presentations.
• Conduct research and participate in client meetings to deepen understanding of the banking industry.
• Collaborate with teams across the SMBC Summer Intern Program.
