Job summary

Satair USA, Inc. is looking for a Summer Intern – Tooling & Repair Specialist to join our Tooling and Repairs Services Americas Team based in Herndon, VA.

You will help manage customer orders and inquiries, facilitating lease/sale/repair/exchange of tools, parts, and GSE, supporting an experienced, diverse 17-person team. The role emphasizes hands-on learning, collaboration with internal teams, and exposure to process improvement and analytics dashboards.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma/GED and currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree.
• Able to work onsite in Herndon, VA for the duration of the Summer Internship.
• Ability to work in the US without current or future need of visa sponsorship.
• Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
• Must be well organized and have good time management skills.
• Self-starter and able to work independently.
• Good coordination and cooperation skills.
• Ability to work in an international context.

Responsibilities

• Support customer orders, inquiries, and tool/part leasing, sale, repair.
• Assist in customer, supplier, and repair shop communications.
• Support tool packages processes and collaborate with internal teams.
• Assist with Unical integration and onboarding with Satair repair team.
• Identify training opportunities and assist in pre-scheduled sessions.

Satair is looking for a Summer Intern – Tooling & Repair Specialist to join our Tooling and Repairs Services Americas Team based in Herndon, VA.

You will be part of a team that manages customer orders, inquiries and facilitates the lease/sale/repair/exchange of Airbus proprietary tools, Airbus proprietary parts, vendor tools, and Ground Support Equipment (GSE).

Meet the Team

The mission of the Tooling and Repair Services Americas department is to provide our customers with the highest level of quality service when they are requesting to lease, purchase, repair, or exchange Airbus Proprietary Tools and Parts, among other offerings. We are a 17 person team with a variety of professional backgrounds, which has contributed to a diverse range of expertise that enables us to deliver exceptional service and support to our customers.

• Participation in the Summer 2027 Intern Program: May 17th - August 6th 2027
• Intern project focused on supporting our Process and Performance Manager on transposing internal processes and work instructions into published ready versions that will be uploaded to our document storage and management system.
• Intern project focused on evaluating, recommending, and implementing new performance analytics dashboards using internal tools.

Your Challenges

• Customer Support: 80% Assist with Airbus and Vendor Tool sale, lease, repair, and return orders as well as Airbus proprietary parts repair, exchange, lease and return orders.
• Customer Support: 80% Assist in customer, supplier, and repair shop communication, as needed.
• Customer Support: 80% Support tool packages process and collaborate with internal teams in an efficient and timely manner.
• Customer Support: 80% Support and assist with Unical integration and onboarding with Satair repair team.
• Process Improvement: 20% Collection and analysis of lessons learnt and corrective actions for missed tool lease/sale/repair opportunities.
• Process Improvement: 20% Support identifying training opportunities for the team as well as preparation for pre-scheduled training sessions.
• Process Improvement: 20% Support digitalization across the ASOMRU team.
• Additional Responsibilities: Perform additional duties as assigned.

Your Boarding Pass

• Required:
  • HS Diploma/GED and currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree at an accredited college or university.
  • Able to work onsite in Herndon, VA for the duration of the Summer Internship.

• Preferred:
  • Seeking degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Procurement, Communications, Manufacturing, Engineering, Data Analytics, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Skilled in the use of computer/programs to include Microsoft/Google Suite.
  • Experience using Excel/Google Sheets and other business integrated systems.
  • Demonstrate problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of aircraft maintenance and/or airline operations.
  • Knowledge of various hand tools, power tools, machinery, and equipment used in manufacturing processes.
  • SAP knowledge is a plus.

Pay Range:

Hourly range based on the required profile: $24 - $39.75/hour. Rate determined by type of degree program and year in school (Bachelors through Masters). Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on geographic differential. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
