Qualifications

  • Pursuing an accredited university program at least undergraduate sophomore level.
  • Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in G-Suite and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Authorized to Work in the US without current or future need for visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Job Description:

Airbus is looking for Summer Interns - Operations Analyst to join our Support Operations Team based in Mobile, AL.

This internship will be focused on optimization of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) Management and Cost Reduction Strategy.

Over the course of our 10-12-week internship program, participants will have the opportunity to:

The team at the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing facilities help assemble the finest aircraft in the world, along three production lines for the A220 and A320 Family aircraft. On the shop floor you’ll be surrounded by individuals who are passionate about aviation and skilled in areas like electrical, structure and quality. Join our team and help build the next generation of aircraft.

Your Working Environment:

On ‘Airbus Way’ you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. The facility, which strengthens the U.S. aerospace industry, is part of Airbus’ strategy to enhance its global competitiveness by meeting the growing needs of its customers in the United States and beyond.

Your Challenges:
  • Analyze historical PPE expenditures to identify cost drivers and inefficiencies.
  • Assess current PPE management processes and benchmark processes in the different facilities (ordering, distribution, usage tracking) and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and propose a cost reduction strategy (e.g., optimized procurement, better allocation, waste reduction initiatives).
  • Create a tracking system to monitor PPE consumption and optimize stock levels.
  • Deliver recommendations and implementation guidelines to ensure sustainability of the cost reduction strategy.
  • Other duties as assigned
Your Boarding Pass:

Required:

  • Willing to temporarily live in the Mobile, AL metro area during the internship.
  • Must be enrolled in an applicable program at least at the undergraduate Sophomore level at an accredited University
  • Ability to communicate in English both verbally and written
  • Proficiency in G-Suite and Microsoft applications, strong knowledge of technical terms.
  • Authorized to Work in the US without current or future need for visa sponsorship.

Preferred:

  • Studying in the following degree areas: IT, Data, Business, Finance, or Aerospace Engineering
  • School projects in related fields
Physical Requirements:
  • Onsite or remote: 100% Onsite
  • Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings.
  • Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms.
  • Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications.
  • Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts.
  • Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
  • Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
  • Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools.
  • Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer.
  • Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.
  • Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor.
  • Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice, potentially internationally.
  • Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.
  • Personal Protective Equipment required: Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site
  • Administrative position only PPE required: Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visit, appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor.
Candidates must be authorized to Work in the US without current or future need for visa sponsorship/work authorization.
