Airbus Americas, Inc. is seeking Summer 2027 interns to join the Customer Line Industrial Integration Team in Mobile, AL. The program runs 10–12 weeks with a mentor, hands-on experience, and tours of state-of-the-art facilities.

Interns will gain practical exposure to aviation manufacturing, connect with professionals, and build a network through events while exploring future leadership opportunities within Airbus.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited university.
  • Able to work in the US without visa sponsorship.
  • Proficient in English (written and spoken).
  • Familiar with G-Suite and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of project management and strong organizational skills.
  • Fluent in French or German is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Understand Customer Line operations and shop floor control.
  • Assist with flightline safety and GSE maintenance and ordering.
  • Support SAP & CnB ordering and follow-up.
  • Assist with A320/A220 project support and digital tool implementation.
  • Contribute to OPEX planning and competency gap assessment.

Job Description: Airbus is looking for Summer 2027 Interns to join our Customer Line Industrial Integration Team based in Mobile, AL. These positions are designed to provide students the opportunity to enhance their theoretical foundation through practical experience focused in several areas of the aviation manufacturing industry. Over the course of our 10-12-week internship program, participants will have the opportunity to: Work directly with a mentor in their field of study while finding solutions to real world problems Gain on the job experience Experience our products up close by touring our state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities Build a lasting professional network through social events and engaging activities Gain the skills and knowledge to become a future industry leader Meet the Team: The team at the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing facilities help assemble the finest aircraft in the world, along two (soon to be three) production lines for the A220 and A320 Family aircraft. On the shop floor you’ll be surrounded by individuals who are passionate about aviation and skilled in areas like electrical, structure and quality. Join our team and help build the next generation of aircraft.

Your Working Environment: On 'Airbus Way' you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. The facility, which strengthens the U.S. aerospace industry, is part of Airbus' strategy to enhance its global competitiveness by meeting the growing needs of its customers in the United States and beyond.

Your Challenges: Complete Understanding of Customer Line Operations and Shop Floor Control (30%) Flightline Safety- Supporting flight test operations. Tool management, protections and consumables Support shop floor control routines GSE maintenance Facilities requests SAP & CnB ordering and follow up Support Project Managers (30%) Support with XLR implementation into the CL Support with A320 Act as an Airline project Support with A220 Road to 150 project Support with Digital Tool Implementation Support CL Operations Excellence (30%) Support with AOP resource and OPEX planning Support with competency gap assessment and planning Support with AOS brick deployment Additional Responsibilities: (10%) All other duties as assigned

Your Boarding Pass: Required: Willing to temporarily live in the Mobile, AL metro area during the internship. Must be enrolled in an applicable program at least at the undergraduate level at an accredited University Ability to communicate in English both verbally and written Proficiency in G-Suite and Microsoft applications, strong knowledge of technical terms. Authorized to Work in the US without current or future need for visa sponsorship. Preferred: School projects in related fields Knowledge of Project Management Excellent organizational and time management skills Demonstrated effective communication skills Strong analytical and problem solving skills in math and science Ability to speak to large groups of people to present status reports Fluent in French or German

Physical Requirements: Vision: adequate to enter and read material on computer screens. Able to identify individuals to initiate greetings, the giving of directions and other business interactions Hearing: able to hear sufficiently to engage in conversation in office settings Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals. Speaking: able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying size with or without amplification. Equipment Operation Able to operate a wide range of personal and office electronic equipment. Carrying: able to occasionally carry up to 30lbs/14kg which engaging in training, addressing production issues or as part of continuous improvement projects. Lifting: able to occasionally lift up to 30lbs/14kg. Pushing/Pull: able to push/pull items in office areas. Sitting: able to sit for extended periods of time at computer and in meetings. Squatting/Kneeling: able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves. Standing: able to stand for extended periods of time. Travel: able to travel overseas and domestically sometimes for extended periods of time. Working outside hangers in changing locations. Walking: able to walk through office and production areas, around flight line and airstrips and sometimes on uneven indoor and/or outdoor surfaces.
