Job summary

BerryDunn’s Technology Assurance Services Practice is seeking an Internal Controls Audit Intern for the Summer of 2027. The internship provides hands-on experience with SOC examinations, internal controls, and IT security assessments while working from our Portland, ME headquarters.

You will learn industry frameworks, assist the engagement lead, perform testing, and collaborate in a fast-paced team environment. A strong learning mindset and 40-hour weeks are expected.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a student in a Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Information Security, Information Technology or Security and Risk Analysis program.
• Available to work a minimum 40 hours per week during the summer session.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
• Desire to obtain Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) Certification.
• Strong analytical, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Learn and work with industry best practice frameworks (NIST, ISO, etc.) by providing service to a number of clients in different verticals
• Learn how to assist the engagement lead with the following tasks:
• Planning and preparing for engagements
• Monitoring and tracking project action items, issues, risks, and decisions
• Perform testing during SOC examinations
• Work in a fast-paced environment alongside skilled professionals
• Participate in staff/team meetings
