Job summary

Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas invites undergraduates (juniors and seniors) to join a paid Summer Internship in Internal Audit. The role spans technology, cybersecurity, financial and operational audits, offering practical experience in testing controls and risk assessment across the Bank's systems and processes.

You will work under supervision, develop audit work papers, and apply analytics to complete populations rather than samples.

Qualifications

• Active and enrolled student in an accredited college or university, classified as a junior or senior.
• Pursuing a degree in accounting, finance, MIS, data analytics, cybersecurity, computer science, or a related field.
• Completed coursework must include at least one accounting, audit, or risk course and at least one quantitative, information systems, or computer science course.
• Overall GPA of 3.25 or better.
• Proficient in MS Office, with emphasis on Excel and Word.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical matters to a non-technical audience.
• Demonstrates a high degree of integrity and possesses the ability to complete challenging assignments with a high level of confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Develop an understanding of the audit approach, methodology, and tools.
• Under supervision, participate in audits of financial, compliance, operational, and information technology areas to ensure compliance with Bank policies and regulations.
• Assist in testing internal controls, including IT general controls and business process controls, related to internal audits and SOX testing.
• Prepare audit work papers documenting procedures and results, per departmental guidelines.
• Apply data analytics techniques to evaluate populations of transactions, access records, and logs.
• Assist in preparing written audit recommendations and reports presented to the auditee.
• Establish effective working relationships with client personnel and apply risk assessment concepts.
