Job summary

Phillips 66 Company is seeking a 2027 University Intern - Refining Engineer in the United States for a hands-on engineering internship. The role offers exposure to refining operations, with projects across process optimization, energy efficiency, logistics, and emissions analysis.

You’ll work with mentors and senior engineers, gaining practical experience and professional development. Locations include several U.S.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science/Corrosion, Metallurgical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or equivalent field of study.
• Greater than 30 hours of earned college credit.
• Graduation date of August 2027 or later.
• Available for a minimum of eleven continuous weeks.
• Must be able to pass respirator/face mask requirements.
• Willing and able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC).

Responsibilities

• Work on engineering projects that may include process optimization, energy efficiency, logistics, equipment reliability, emissions, or permits.
• Collaborate with experienced engineers and network with other interns.
• Receive technical training, company practices, and on‑the‑job guidance throughout the internship.
