Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned tasks and projects with a high level of quality and attention to detail
  • Participate in hands‑on training and practice in pit and plant activities
  • Assist with equipment maintenance and repair
  • Follow quality control procedures and participate in lab testing as required
  • Assist with sales and dispatch activities, including weighing and ticketing haul trucks
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Attend daily safety briefings and actively participate in hazard identification and reporting
  • Actively seek out feedback and coaching from supervisors and team members
  • Complete end‑of-summer presentation summarizing experiences and learning outcomes.

Job description

  • Pay or shift range: $19.42 USD to $29.13 USD The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.

The Luck Stone Summer Internship is a 9-week program for college students focused on quarry operations. Interns gain hands‑on experience in blasting, heavy equipment operation and maintenance, plant operations, quality control, and sales and dispatch — building core competencies in equipment operation, maintenance, safety, and planning. Throughout the program, interns engage in safety culture and team‑building activities, network with industry professionals, and conclude with a presentation of their experiences and learning outcomes.

Ideal candidates will be currently enrolled in an advanced degree or certificate program in a related discipline to the industry and have a desire to grow within the mining field.

Internship will start on June 1,2027 and go through the first week of August 2027.
