Job summary

Luck Companies offers a 9-week Summer Internship focused on quarry operations, starting June 1, 2027 and running through the first week of August 2027. Interns gain hands-on experience in blasting, heavy equipment operation and maintenance, plant operations, quality control, and sales and dispatch, building core competencies in safety and planning.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in an advanced degree or certificate program related to the industry and eager to grow within mining.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an advanced degree or certificate program in a related discipline.
• Interest in quarry operations and safety.
• Willingness to learn and grow within mining operations.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned tasks and projects with a high level of quality and attention to detail
• Participate in hands-on training and practice in pit and plant activities
• Assist with equipment maintenance and repair
• Follow quality control procedures and participate in lab testing as required
• Assist with sales and dispatch activities, including weighing and ticketing haul trucks
• Attend daily safety briefings and actively participate in hazard identification and reporting
• Complete end-of-summer presentation summarizing experiences and learning outcomes.

• Pay or shift range: $19.42 USD to $29.13 USD The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.

The Luck Stone Summer Internship is a 9-week program for college students focused on quarry operations. Interns gain hands‑on experience in blasting, heavy equipment operation and maintenance, plant operations, quality control, and sales and dispatch — building core competencies in equipment operation, maintenance, safety, and planning. Throughout the program, interns engage in safety culture and team‑building activities, network with industry professionals, and conclude with a presentation of their experiences and learning outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Complete assigned tasks and projects with a high level of quality and attention to detail
• Participate in hands‑on training and practice in pit and plant activities
• Assist with equipment maintenance and repair
• Follow quality control procedures and participate in lab testing as required
• Assist with sales and dispatch activities, including weighing and ticketing haul trucks
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Attend daily safety briefings and actively participate in hazard identification and reporting
• Actively seek out feedback and coaching from supervisors and team members
• Complete end‑of-summer presentation summarizing experiences and learning outcomes.

Ideal candidates will be currently enrolled in an advanced degree or certificate program in a related discipline to the industry and have a desire to grow within the mining field.

Internship will start on June 1,2027 and go through the first week of August 2027.
