Job summary

Allegion Colorado Springs is seeking a Summer Intern – Mechanical Engineer to contribute to a team delivering solutions for customers and clients and to learn to apply structured problem solving and CAD tools on real projects.

You will develop knowledge of Product Lifecycle Engineering, participate in development discussions, and gain growth opportunities within Allegion while pursuing a Mechanical Engineering degree and demonstrating leadership and initiative.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or related (Aero, Systems, Industrial).
  • Prefer completion of Sophomore year by Summer 2027.
  • CAD experience; Creo is a plus.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and initiative in school or work projects.
  • Desire to learn, grow and develop by working on projects impacting Allegion’s business and customers.

Responsibilities

Summer Intern – Mechanical Engineer, Colorado Springs, CO

As a mechanical engineering intern, you will be a part of a team delivering solutions for customers and clients that seek to streamline the way Allegion does business. Working on a team that works to solve business problems in creative and efficient ways, you will learn to think outside of the box, implement scalable solutions, and follow best practices of both the mechanical engineering and security industry.

Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States.

The company does not intend to provide sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B, TN, etc.) for this employment position.

What You Will Do
  • Deepen your understanding of Product Lifecycle Engineering by sustaining the quality of current market products
  • Participate in development discussions and implement solutions on real projects
  • Learn and apply Structured Problem Solving and Root Cause Analysis methodology to top quality issues impacting our lock business
  • Obtain the experience to create a foundation for growth and future opportunities with Allegion
What You Need to Succeed
  • Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related (Aero, Systems, Industrial)
  • Prefer completion of Sophomore year by Summer 2027

  • Demonstrated leadership ability and initiative, e.g. school club officer, sports team captain, resident advisor, leadership on school or work projects, etc.

Compensation:

This range is provided by Allegion. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience. The expected Base Hourly Range: $25-$26. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
