Pacific Life Insurance invites students for its Summer Internship in the Investment division, focusing on fixed income analysis for the General Account. You will partner with Public Bond Investment professionals to analyze opportunities, perform credit research, and present summer findings.

The program emphasizes hands-on portfolio management exposure, professional development, mentorship, and networking within a collaborative environment.

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program with graduation date in 2027 or 2028.

Responsabilidades

• Collaborate with Public Bond Investment professionals in analyzing fixed income opportunities for the General Account.
• Conduct fundamental credit research: company performance, financials, industry trends, capital structures, risks.
• Present findings and investment recommendations based on summer research.
• Gain hands-on experience in investment decisions and portfolio management.

Job Description:

The investment division is responsible for designing investment strategies and managing bond portfolios that support our life and annuity products along with our surplus account. Our mission is to provide best-in-class investment management services for all clients and strive to be trusted business partners who deliver top-tier investment results.

What You'll Do:

• You will collaborate and partner with Public Bond Investment professionals in the analysis of fixed income investment opportunities for inclusion in the company's General Account


• Gain insight into fixed income investment analysis through conducting fundamental credit research, including the evaluation of company performance, financials, industry trends, capital structures, relative value, and investment risks


• Present findings and investment recommendations based on summer research at the end of the internship


• Gain hands on experience in investment decisions and see the dynamics of portfolio management

Factors for Success

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or similar field with a graduation date of December 2027 or May/June 2028


• Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem solving, organizational, and presentation skills


• Excellent communication skills, ability to multitask, strong attention to detail, and ability to prioritize work


• Ability to work collaboratively as a team and independently


• Some understanding of, or expertise with, fixed income analysis


• A knowledge or understanding of global capital markets

• Ability to convey complex subjects clearly and concisely


• Progress towards the CFA and/or involvement in a student investment fund


• Experience working with Bloomberg terminals and data


• A passion for a career in fixed income investing and an intellectual curiosity to delve into industry topics
