Job summary

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan is seeking a 2027 Summer Intern in Continuous Improvement to gain hands-on experience and contribute to meaningful projects in the health insurance industry. You will assist in identifying business problems, support leaders on efficiency projects, and develop a solid understanding of BCBSM's business, products, and data while building professional networks.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
• Interns must be enrolled for the duration of the internship.
• Effective verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently and in a team.
• Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing information/research to identify business problems and help management implement solutions.
• Support leaders on projects to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of the organization.
• Develop understanding of BCBSM business, products, programs, data, structure, controls, and research.
• Analyze business goals, objectives, and needs within the organization.
• Participate in networking events with BCBSM leaders and other interns.
• Engage in volunteer activities/community outreach and participate in department meetings.
