Westinghouse Electric Company in Cranberry Township, PA is seeking a paid EHS intern for the summer (May–August 2027). The role supports maintaining a safe, healthy work environment and reducing environmental impact, with reporting to the Senior Manager, Fuel Manufacturing EHS.

The internship is full-time and hybrid, with travel across Western Pennsylvania sites, opportunities for additional travel, and exposure to hazard assessments, inspections, training material development, and EHS data

Formación

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in environmental health and safety, industrial hygiene, fire or similar.
• Completed Sophomore year of college.
• Completed occupational safety, environmental or industrial hygiene coursework.
• Reliable transportation for commuting to and from work locations (<50 miles).

Responsabilidades

• Travel throughout Western Pennsylvania sites as required.
• Participate in EHS team meetings; present on topics and project progress.
• Assist in developing and implementing Health and Safety standards and programs.
• Conduct hazard assessments and recommend mitigations.
• Inspect and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices for regulatory compliance.
• Participate in accident investigations to identify causes and corrective actions.
• Work as part of an inspection or audit team.
• Develop safety briefs, training materials and provide training to improve EHS knowledge.
• Analyze data and develop reports.

Educación

Bachelor's degree in environmental health and safety or related field

Sophomore year completed

Completed coursework in occupational safety, environmental or industrial hygiene

Reliable transportation for commuting (<50 miles)

About the role:

As an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) intern, you will directly help maintain a safe and healthful work environment and mitigating environmental impacts.

You will report to the Senior Manager, Fuel Manufacturing EHS located at our Cranberry, PA facility. This is a paid full-time hybrid position for the summer, May - August 2027.

Key Responsibilities:

• You will travel throughout Western Pennsylvania sites as required
• Additional travel opportunities
• You will help develop and implement Health and Safety standards and programs
• Participate in EHS team meetings; present on EHS topics and project progress
• Conduct hazard assessments, and make recommendations for mitigations
• Inspect and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices for regulatory compliance

Qualifications:

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The hourly rate for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $23.00 to $26.30 per hour.
