Admiral Insurance Group is seeking an Actuarial Intern for a 10-week internship in the United States. The role focuses on acquiring and analyzing data, supporting the actuarial team, and contributing to studies in reserving, pricing, and profitability.

You will download and manipulate data, and participate in projects under the guidance of mentors. Education requirements include pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or Actuarial Science, with a GPA of 3.0+.

Qualificações

• Rising Junior or Senior student preferred.

The Actuarial Intern acquires and analyzes data while assisting members of the actuarial team with various ongoing projects. Communicates with actuarial team members and managers. Participates in the decision-making process by identifying issues and recommending solutions. This is a 10-week internship. Key functions will include but are not limited to:

• Assist the actuarial team with analysis for statistical rating studies and apply advanced levels of mathematics, statistics, finance, and business to property and casualty insurance problems.
• Download, manipulate, and compile data into usable and useful formats, including programming in spreadsheets and/or databases.
• Participate in studies and projects focused on key areas of reserving, pricing, and profitability.
• Learn and observe business interactions with other departments.
• Become proficient in working with large data files using appropriate software.
• Perform other analyses as assigned to support business partners.

Education

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or a related area.
• GPA of 3.0 and above is required.
• Rising Junior or Senior student preferred.
• Interest in enhancing classroom learning through practical career-related work experience within the industry.

Qualifications

• No related work experience required.
• Knowledge of computer programs in a Windows environment, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Knowledge and practical application of statistical software (e.g., SQL, R, Python) preferred.
• Completion of one to two Actuarial Society examinations preferred.
• Basic knowledge of insurance, business, and finance preferred.
