Job description

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Currently licensed as an RN or LPN in the state of Washington.
  • Current certification in First-Aid and CPR.
GENERAL DUTIES:
  1. Attend and participate in evening programs and spiritual activities.
  2. Assist with "break day" duties as scheduled.
  3. Maintain a standard of cleanliness in personal grooming and in living quarters.
  4. Assist with the clean-up of the camp at the end of each session and at the summer's conclusion.
  5. Complete a mid-summer and an end-of-summer brief.
  6. Assist with other duties as assigned.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
  1. Discuss health and safety procedures during pre-camp training with staff.
  2. Report all admissions to the Health Center to the Program Director.
  3. Establish a designated time for "sick-call" in consultation with the Camp Administrator, following meals.
  4. Guide counselors on their responsibilities regarding noting and reporting illness, injury, unsafe practices, dietary habits, and symptoms of disturbance.
  5. Check living quarters and camp daily for health and safety conditions.
  6. Administer medications and treatments as per physicians' orders, maintaining records.
  7. Prepare first-aid kits for staff use and instruct counselors in current first-aid methods; report treatments to the nurse.
  8. Conduct physical checks of campers upon arrival, reviewing health records with counselors.
  9. Manage drugs, medications, and first aid kits brought by campers or staff as directed by physicians.
  10. Maintain daily treatment logs and insurance forms.
  11. Prepare comprehensive reports at the end of camp, including equipment inventory, treatment records, and recommendations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist regularly.
  2. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects, and reach overhead.
  3. Operate a telephone and computer.
  4. Lift up to 25 lbs.
  5. Access and interpret information from a computer and understand written information.
