Job summary

Boeckermann Grafstrom and Mayer (BGM) is seeking a motivated Financial Planning Intern for Summer 2028 in Bloomington, MN. You'll work with seasoned professionals, assist in client meetings, support the portfolio management process, and gain hands-on experience shaping comprehensive financial plans.

You'll collaborate across teams, receive coaching, and build technical and relationship skills while contributing to real client work and learning how advisory services interconnect with tax,

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Financial Planning, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation for client meetings, including asset allocation and cash flow projections.
• Participate in client meetings and track follow-up items with the lead advisor.
• Gain exposure to portfolio management processes and investment philosophy.
• Assist with financial planning analyses and develop client recommendations.
• Review tax returns with the team to identify tax-planning opportunities.
• Collaborate with administrative staff to support account openings and client needs.
