Job summary

Kiewit is seeking Engineer Interns for its Summer 2027 Intern Program in the Eastern District. Interns will participate in field operations, learn construction management functions, and gain hands-on experience with diverse heavy civil projects across transportation and energy sectors.

Located in the Eastern District with the possibility to travel and relocate as needed, the internship targets students pursuing civil, electrical, or construction management degrees.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in civil engineering, electrical engineering, construction management or related.
• Willingness to travel or relocate as needed.
• Strong ethics, safety mindset and teamwork are essential.

Responsibilities

• Field engineering, planning, cost control, scheduling, quantity tracking, material procurement, contract administration, estimating and supervision of field activities.
• Perform engineering tasks using standard techniques and solve minor problems arising during construction.
• Maintain records on job progress, costs, material usage, and other metrics.
• Plan and schedule jobs or job segments to meet milestones.
• Collaborate with suppliers to facilitate material delivery and coordination.
