Job summary

ForestryWorks is hiring two summer interns through the Land and Minerals Department to perform field forestry tasks, including tree planting inspections, regeneration checks, timber sale preparation, and marking pine plantations at two Minnesota locations.

Internships run May through August 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday (37.5 hours/week). Work is outdoors in remote wooded areas; housing is not provided and a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Completion of at least one year in Forestry/Natural Resources or related studies by May 2026.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform field forestry tasks including tree planting inspections and regeneration checks.
• Assist with timber sale preparation and administration.
• Mark pine plantations and classify native plant communities.
• Work outdoors in remote wooded areas in various weather conditions.
