Sierra Pacific Industries offers a Forestry Internship designed to give hands-on field experience while learning from experienced foresters. It is field-based, outdoors, and includes work on active timberlands.

Internships may lead to employment upon graduation. May/June through August/September 2027 is the period, with housing allowance for qualifying individuals. The program emphasizes sustainable forest management and real project contributions.

Qualifications

• Must be continuing education in Fall 2027, pursuing a degree in forestry, natural resources, or significantly related field.
• Interns must be able to cross-country hike and negotiate steep, brushy terrain.
• Interns must have a valid driver’s license and ability to navigate a 4-wheel drive vehicle along off-highway roads.

• Sawmill log procurement.
• Timber Harvest Plan (THP) preparation.
• Logging administration.
• Harvest unit layout.
• Wildlife and botany work.
