Job summary

Dominion Energy South Carolina (DESC) is seeking students for our 2027 Summer engineering intern program for Power Delivery Operations. The program attracts high-potential students and may lead to a full-time position within DESC’s core businesses after graduation.

Interns will gain knowledge in electric operations, from generation to end-user delivery via transmission lines, substations, and distribution systems, preparing for entry-level professional roles in the utility industry.

Qualifications

• Must be in the process of obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• Must have a minimum GPA of 2.5.
• Must have a graduation date in the fall of 2027 to 2029.

Responsibilities

• Assist with field work in substations and construction areas under varying weather conditions.
• Read and develop basic understanding of construction drawings and equipment manuals.
• Travel to substation locations and occasionally work outside normal hours.
