Job summary

The Governor’s Honors Program (GHP) at Georgia Southern University invites qualified instructors to teach Agricultural Research, Biotechnology, and Science for a 4-week residential summer program. Instructors will deliver research-based curricula and mentor high school students through interdisciplinary labs and projects.

Responsibilities include preparing unit plans, coordinating with department staff, attending orientation, and supporting students with rigorous, engaging coursework.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a relevant field and teaching credentials.
• Minimum of three years of successful teaching experience in the specific content area.
• Experience teaching gifted education, AP, or honors courses is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction in agricultural sciences with a research-based approach.
• Organize curriculum around environmental science, biotechnology, and related topics.
• Develop labs, projects, and interdisciplinary activities for high school students.
• Prepare unit plans, syllabi, and course overviews reflecting rigorous curriculum.
• Support onboarding and collaborate with department staff and other instructors.
