Join Our Team as a Summer Day Camp Site Director for Grades 3-6 - Loveland

The YMCA of Northern Colorado is seeking passionate, motivated, and experienced individuals to lead our Summer Day Camp programs as Site Directors. If you’re a child-focused leader who thrives on creating positive, fun, and safe experiences for kids, we want you on our team! We’re looking for staff who are 21 years or older and dedicated to helping children explore, learn, and create lasting memories.

Position Details
  • Training: May 19-23, 2025
  • Schedule: No weekends; season runs from May 27 to August 8, with potential extension into the school year for before and after school care
  • Location: Loveland YMCA, overseeing children entering grades 3-6

This role may lead to a regular position for the school year for those in good standing.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and motivate campers and staff to create an engaging and memorable camp experience.
  • Implement creative, high-quality camp programs aligned with YMCA standards.
  • Train, schedule, and supervise staff and volunteers.
  • Ensure safety standards and procedures are followed at all times.
  • Oversee program quality, ensuring activities support children’s growth and well-being.
  • Maintain adherence to YMCA policies, licensing requirements, and safety protocols.
  • Build positive relationships with staff, campers, parents, and the community.
  • Follow emergency procedures and ensure staff are prepared for emergencies.
  • Be flexible with scheduling and punctual for shifts.
  • Implement positive guidance and discipline techniques.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Monitor and manage the camp budget and supplies.
  • Attend meetings, training, and other YMCA events as required.
Qualifications
  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience with children preferred.
  • Enthusiastic, responsible, and dependable.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) encouraged.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications (training available through YMCA).
  • At least one of the following:
    • A four-year degree in a related field OR
    • 48 college semester hours plus 910 hours of experience working with children since age 18 OR
    • 5640 hours of experience working directly with school-age children in groups of 4 or more.
