At the Y, we create an exciting, safe camp environment for kids and staff to have an unforgettable summer. Our Summer Day Camp Inclusion Aides develop leadership skills and confidence while making lasting friendships and memories.

Join us for the experience of a lifetime. Pay starts at $17.90 per hour, Monday-Friday schedule

As a Summer Day Camp Inclusion Aide, you will support individuals with disabilities enrolled in Y programs, promoting participation and independence. You will ensure their needs are met, serve as a role model, and guide activities that foster a positive learning environment and development of life skills.

What you'll do
Program Participant Experience
  • Support inclusion and create an outstanding participant experience
  • Modify activities as needed, promote participation and independence, and maintain confidentiality
  • Teach socially acceptable behaviors using positive reinforcement and behavior management strategies
  • Communicate with team members, leaders, and parents regularly
  • Support program activities and substitute support as needed
Participant Safety
  • Ensure health and safety of participants, following YMCA standards
  • Be attentive to individual health and safety needs
  • Ensure compliance with safety rules and monitor participants
  • Set up and store equipment properly, report unsafe conditions
  • Maintain clean facilities
What you'll Need
  • High school diploma or equivalent; 18+ years old
  • Experience working with children, especially with disabilities, preferred
  • Passion for the YMCA's mission and serving diverse youth
  • Knowledge of child development and inclusive practices
  • Ability to observe and manage behavior appropriately
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Meet physical and background check requirements
Child Abuse Prevention
  • Report hazards, follow safety policies, and complete required training
