Positions available: Full-time & part-time seasonal

Flexible schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:15 AM - 6:30 PM

Locations: Orange Park, Middleburg, Argyle, Fleming Island, Macclenny

Position Summary

Provides supervision to children in a seasonal Day Camp, ensuring a quality experience aligned with YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring. Implements developmentally appropriate activities to foster growth.

Essential Functions

• Supervise and actively engage with children, meeting their emotional, physical, and intellectual needs.
• Model positive interactions and encourage participation in activities.
• Plan and execute culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate activities aligned with YMCA values.
• Use positive guidance techniques such as redirection and reinforcement.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness standards.
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions.
• Follow YMCA policies on medical, disciplinary, emergency, and child abuse prevention procedures.
• Build positive relationships with parents and staff, demonstrating relationship-building skills.
• Ensure all YMCA standards and best practices are followed, maintaining health and safety.
• Inspect facilities regularly for safety and cleanliness.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children and a reference to confirm this experience is REQUIRED.
• Experience in a day camp or childcare setting is PREFERRED.
• Experience in outdoor activities, sports, aquatics, or recreational games is PREFERRED.
• Minimum age: 16 years.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications required before the first day.
• 40 Hours of Child Care Certification PREFERRED.
• Ability to relate effectively with diverse groups; swim skills are a plus.

Physical Demands

Ability to plan, lead, and participate in various outdoor and indoor activities.
