- Implement programs and activities in areas such as tutoring, technology, games, health and recreation, arts and crafts, etc. for youth of all ages.
- Supervise and monitor program areas to ensure safety of members.
- Develop, post and follow weekly lesson plans under the direction of Program and Education Directors.
- Participate in staff meetings and collaborate with the Club team.
- Provide supervision in various program areas:
- Promote and stimulate program participation.
- Create opportunities for development of strengths and competencies.
- Provide guidance and role modeling to members.
PREPARE YOUTH FOR SUCCESS:
- Know the Youth Development Strategy - Instill in youth a sense of Belonging, Usefulness, Influence and Competence (BUIC).
- Create opportunities for development of strengths and competencies.
- Provide guidance and role modeling to members.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- May participate in special programs and/or events.
- May be required to be a monitor on the bus.
- Complete trainings as required by licensing agency.
- May be required to help out in multiple areas as needed.
- Clean area and bathrooms as needed at the end of day.
- May be required to work at other club locations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience working with children.
- Knowledge of youth development.
- Knowledge of Department of Education/DHS Licensing Requirements.
- Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
- Ability to deal with the general public.
- Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth.
- Must be flexible and be able to work well with other team members.
- Ability to multitask.
- Problem solving skills.
- Must be CPR and First Aid Certified.
EMPLOYMENT SCREENINGS:
- Must pass local, state and national criminal background checks.
- Must pass TBI and DHS fingerprinting.
- Must pass drug screening and pre-employment physical.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Must be able to lift 40lbs.
- Must be able to move quickly to keep up with youth.
- Must be able to remain alert and energetic for 8 hours or more.
- Must have clear vision and hearing to monitor children's safety and respond to their needs.
REQUIRED DATES:
- Required training May 19-21.
