Job summary

Caton Construction Group is offering summer Engineering Intern positions for 10-12 week internships in Charlottesville or Richmond, VA, and Raleigh, Charlotte, Southport, or Winston-Salem, NC. Projects cover heavy bridge, roadway, and site development work.

Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor's in civil engineering or related field, with Sophomore level or higher coursework completed. Interns will support construction staff under project team supervision, assist with estimating, scheduling,

Qualifications

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a construction-related field.
Open to students who have completed sophomore level classes and above.

Responsibilities

Coordinates project activities under supervision from Project Manager, Project Engineer, or Superintendent.
Performs project accounting and scheduling activities with assistance.
Performs estimating functions as requested with assistance.
Assists with development of work plans and quantity tracking.
Assists with construction layout when required and monitors quality.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
Knowledge of phases of construction projects and basic math concepts.
