Job summary

Pape-Dawson is seeking Civil Engineer Interns for the summer of 2027 in Florida offices, including Sarasota. The interns will assist with design tasks on land development and infrastructure projects under a licensed P.E.

engineer, gaining hands-on experience with design tools, documentation, and project coordination in a collaborative setting. Responsibilities include preparing plans, evaluating design alternatives, using AutoCAD Civil 3D, and contributing to technical reports and site

Qualifications

Pursuing a BS in Civil or Agricultural Engineering at ABET-accredited school.
Familiarity with engineering principles, practices, and procedures.
Basic proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Word and Excel.
Effective written and verbal communication; teamwork ability.

Responsibilities

Assist project managers and engineers in preparing plans, specs, and cost estimates.
Develop design alternatives by analyzing basic engineering parameters and constraints.
Analyze design features to ensure alignment with requirements and standards.
Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to produce drawings, exhibits, and documents.
Support preparation of technical reports and memoranda using approved formats.
Participate in site visits, field activities, and data collection as assigned.
Assist with redlines, submittals, and exhibits; maintain as-built drawings.
Take on progressively more complex tasks as experience grows.
Assist in plans for residential, commercial, and site development, including drainage and utilities.
