Job summary

The Middle School Career Academy is currently looking for a Lead Teacher to help support with the planning leading up to the Academy, and with supervision during the Academy.

Duties include but are not limited to: attending planning meetings, organizing and communicating with industry partners, preparing program-wide materials and communication, logistical support during the Academy, and supporting the work of the Perkins Coordinators in the daily operation of the camp.

Qualifications

• Minnesota teaching license required.
• Previous summer program experience preferred.
• Regular, on-time attendance is required.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent organization skills.
• Demonstrated Educational Leadership.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents.

Responsibilities

• Participates in planning prior to start of program.
• Directs and helps manage behavior and discipline.
• Coordinates and supervises student use of facilities, bus transportation, and related issues.
• Three student contact days.
• Attendance and bus communication.
• Mandatory planning/meeting time.
• Serves as parent contact for students in Middle School Camp.
• Provide safe and positive learning environment.
• Develop relationships and encourage positive self-efficacy for all students.

Education

Minnesota teaching license

Previous summer program experience

Regular, on-time attendance

Effective oral and written communication skills

Excellent organization skills
