Job summary

Minnetonka Public Schools is seeking a Community Education/Quest Instructor to plan and supervise a theme-based summer day camp program for middle school children. The role involves creating a safe and fun atmosphere for participants while managing activities and ensuring the program goals are met.

The position requires a B.A. or B.S. degree in a relevant field, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. This is a temporary role from July 17 to August 19, 2026.

Qualifications

• B.A. or B.S. degree in education, child development, recreation, or a related field; teaching license preferred.
• Evidence of successful experience working with middle school aged students.
• Evidence of successful program leadership.
• Positive interpersonal skills; ability to relate well to children and adults.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Proven record of punctuality and responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Help plan enriching curriculum and program goals for 10 one-week camp programs.
• Plan and carry out age-appropriate activities consistent with class goals.
• Manage classroom, outdoor activities, and field trips; supervise and provide guidance for participants.
• Provide a safe, caring, fun environment for children.
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
• Responsible for camp cell phone and purchase card.
