Job summary

Camp Daisy and Harry Stein, operated by Congregation Beth Israel, seeks a dedicated individual to oversee safety and swimming activities at the pool during cabin hours and elective periods. You will plan and implement age-diverse swimming programs with a strong emphasis on safety and fun for campers and staff.

The role requires Red Cross Lifeguard Certification or equivalent, prior water-safety experience, and the ability to collaborate with counselors and health staff to ensure camper wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Must possess Red Cross Lifeguard Certification or equivalent.
• Experience in water safety and swimming instruction preferred.
• Ability to live in a cabin and supervise campers with co-counselors.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement Swimming program for all ages during cabin activities and electives.
• Orient staff and campers to pool rules, equipment, and safety procedures.
• Communicate with Health Center about campers with special needs related to swimming.
• Maintain pool areas and inventory supplies; assist in daily cleaning.
• Record camper progress and evaluate swimming program and staff.
