Job summary

Town of Bethany Parks & Recreation seeks an Assistant Summer Camp Coordinator/CIT Program Supervisor to lead and supervise the summer camp staff, mentor CIT participants, and help develop leadership activities. The role focuses on creating a safe, engaging environment and delivering high-quality camp experiences for children and teens.

You will coordinate daily schedules and events, support staff training, and liaise with families while maintaining program records and safety protocols throughout

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a camp, school, or recreation setting.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience mentoring teens strongly preferred.
• Current CPR, First Aid, EpiPen Admin, and AED certification (or ability to obtain prior to camp start).

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing daily camp operations and supervised activities.
• Supervise Camp Counselors, Junior Counselors, and seasonal staff; provide coaching and feedback.
• Develop and implement CIT curriculum and leadership workshops; assign CIT placements.
• Mentor CIT participants and conduct regular feedback/evaluations.
• Maintain camper safety, attendance, and program records; ensure confidentiality and professionalism.
