YMCA of the Cedar Rapids Metro Area is seeking a Health Coordinator for Camp Kern in Oregonia, OH. This seasonal, non-exempt role provides hands-on health care to camp staff and campers, coordinating with volunteer and registered nurses to meet medical needs during the program.

The position requires CNA or EMT or equivalent, CPR/First Aid expertise, and a commitment to health and safety compliance, including ADA accommodations.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Extensive CPR/First Aid experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent; one year or more of college preferred.
• Knowledge of current health and safety laws and practices is essential.
• Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds, with experience working with diverse populations.
• Commitment to inclusion and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Responsibilities

• Provide health care to meet the individual needs of camp staff and campers.
• Collaborate with volunteer nurses and registered nurses to meet medical needs.
• Assist with distribution of camper medication for all programs on Camp Kern.
• Follow health care policies/procedures as described in Healthcare Manual and treatment procedures.
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records according to state and ACA standards.
• Communicate issues and problems to the RN and Camp Director; problem solve with leadership staff.
