Job summary

Galileo Learning, LLC is seeking an experienced Camp Director to lead our K-8th summer camps in the Walnut Creek area, serving as site General Manager and public face. You will open and operate a Camp Galileo location, serving campers and families in the community.

You will lead a dynamic seasonal team of educators and entry-level staff to create joyful, safe environments and ensure smooth operations, excellence in curriculum, and customer care.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience working directly with students in an education setting.
• Proven experience managing or supervising adult staff.
• Proven ability to create a safe, inclusive environment for children and build trust with families.
• Strong communication with families, partners, and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Own all aspects of the camp’s launch from preseason planning through end-of-summer wrap-up.
• Oversee scheduling, staffing, and payroll; provide ongoing feedback and coaching to staff.
• Maintain camper safety, family trust, and program fidelity at all times.
• Collaborate with Field Program Manager and community partners to deliver Galileo’s mission.
• Lead team in using the Galileo Innovation Approach to turn challenges into opportunities.
