Greater Wichita YMCA is seeking a Junior Camp Counselor for our summer camp program in Kansas. You will serve as a role model for youth, lead age-appropriate activities, and support camp operations under the Camp Program Director.

The role emphasizes positive interpersonal communication, teamwork, and adherence to established policies to ensure a safe and engaging camp experience for participants.

Responsibilities

• Attend all mandatory staff meetings and in-service hours.
• Assist Camp Counselor in scheduled activities and supervision.
• Engage with youth as a positive role model in communication, sports, and healthy habits.
• Maintain attendance records and rosters daily.
• Follow YMCA discipline policy and set positive limits for children.
• Greet parents and children daily; verify IDs for pickups.
• Share program inquiries with supervisor and report issues promptly.
• Ensure safety by following KDHE and YMCA guidelines.
